to be teachers and classmates of Russell Montague Clement; views of various cable cars, power houses and other railway subjects
in San Francisco, Oakland and elsewhere (including fragments of a photograph of a roundhouse mechanism, shelved in box in
ffALB); a tintype portrait of a couple who may be Lewis Meltzer Clement and his wife; views of Boston in the 1880s; view of
a road in Riverside, Calif.; and other subjects.

Russell Montague Clement, son of L.M. Clement was an engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad Co., the Pacific Improvement
Co. and the City Engineer for Oakland, Calif.
Lewis Metzler Clement was a railroad engineer for the Central Pacific Railroad and Southern Pacific Railroad. Projects included
working on a pass through the Sierra Nevada Mountains and cable car lines for the Market Street Cable Railway Co.
